DESCRIPTION:It’s a day to celebrate Connections on the Trail as we partner with Grey Sauble Conservation to share the beauty of Eugenia Falls and the many parts of the Bruce Trail that wander through the Beaver Valley. \n\n\n\nA very special THANK YOU to Grey Sauble Conservation Authority for partnering with us and waiving the usual parking fees for all attendees. \n\n\n\n10:00 am to 3:00 pm – Visit the Bruce Trail and Grey Sauble Conservation Authority tents to learn more about the Bruce Trail and Grey Sauble Conservation Authority. Go for a self-guided hike or try a family friendly activity\, craft or scavenger hunt. Limited amounts of Bruce Trail merchandise will be available for purchase (save the shipping!) Giveaways and Reference Guides (while supplies last)! \n\n\n\n10:00 am – “In Your Estimation” Hike. Hikers will be challenged to guess their completion time (mm:ss) for a 3-5 km hike. Exact hike route and distance will be revealed on Bruce Trail Day! The hiker with the closest guess will win a Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Prize. Hikers are asked to please refrain from checking time\, pace or distance technology during the hike – all participating hikers will be timed by Club volunteers. \n\n\n\n1:00 pm – Historical Eugenia Falls Hike. Join us for a hike in and around Eugenia Falls where\, along the way\, we’ll find traces of hydro-electric power projects and learn about an 1852 “gold rush”.

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of trail-making for our Bruce Trail hiking pleasure? Come out to the Beaver Valley club’s post-AGM hike\, and learn about trail-making partnerships\, coordination and construction as you stroll the trail from the Beaver Valley ski club into the Kimberly Forest. We will be accompanied by Cathy Little\, who has facilitated the sharing of trails for hiking\, skiing\, biking and snowshoeing. SUMMARY:Phragmites REMOVAL Work Party
DESCRIPTION:From the BVBTC Biodiversity team: \n\n\n\n“Canada’s worst invasive” plant found on local BTC land — please join a Phragmites work party! \n\n\n\nOur Club’s eagle-eyed volunteers have spotted phragmites in six local areas under BTC protection! Phragmites grows very quickly on land and in the water and poisons its local environment as it goes.  You may recall an infestation a few years back in the Collingwood area which local folks successfully eradicated over a period of a few years.   \n\n\n\nWell\, now our Club is looking at the same process. Please join our Biodiversity team volunteers and Conservation Ambassadors\, Esme Campbell and Kayla Jakobszen\, in removing a Phragmites infestation right near the beaver pond at Young Wetlands. We will use spades to dig out the plant and bag it for later destruction. SUMMARY:Fall Colours with Pride
DESCRIPTION:Our first ever Hike in partnership with the Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay! \n\n\n\nJoin us on Saturday\, October 3rd in the beautiful Beaver Valley for an autumn hike in partnership with the Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay. This hike is open to all\, with an especial invitation to members of the queer\, 2S-LGBTQIA+ community\, their allies and supporters. Participants do not need to be Bruce Trail members to register. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be taking a walk through the Eagle’s Summit area at the top of the escarpment where the views across the valley are lovely. Photo ops abound! Enjoy the peace and beauty of the mixed forest and meadows\, while chatting with fellow hikers along the way. We’ll be moving along at a manageable\, moderate pace for about 1 ½ hours\, be sure to wear sturdy footwear with a good tread\, dress for the weather and bring along a water bottle.
